The paper deals with functioning of cultural literary images in the modern media discourse on the material of the Russian poet Dmitry Vodennikov's column in the newspaper.ruportal.The texts from the column are analyzed from the intertext point of view in this paper.The transformation of cultural images in the space of modern Internet journalism is considered.The specificity of cultural images use as a part of the column's linguistic and artistic composition, the peculiarities of classical culture images' individual author interpretation are examined here.Different elements of case texts: quotations, allusions, reminiscences are the cultural game elements and serve as means of dialogue with the reader, form the cultural context of journalistic texts.The considered methods of cultural images functioning are typical for the phenomenon of the author journalism and the activity of columnists in general.
