The study is devoted to the conceptual analysis description using the experimental method. We present a brief overview of key concepts: conceptual analysis, conceptual stages of analysis, free associative experiment. The results of the research experience of the concept “steppe” are indicated. The actual materials for the study were direct associations of respondents. During the conducted study we use the following methods and techniques: survey, observation, quantitative and statistical method, descriptive method, methods of generalization and systematization, etc.
