The poems of the prominent representative of Kazakh poetry Mukagali Makatayev are analyzed in the article in the poetic aspect. The artistic-figurative system, the features of his poems, the place of the poet in national poetry are considered. The artist’s art is primarily the fruit of the creative study of the world, since it acquaints the reader with the object of interest. It is known that along with the painstaking work that is required in order to convey the feelings experienced, the observed phenomena, the poet needs, first of all, a special talent. Judging from the point of view of the requirements of the literary paradigm, all structural layers of a literary text directly depend on the views, perceptions, judgments, and consciousness of the author. The fate and history of the people, national culture, ethnoarchaic motives and images, mysterious corners of the human soul, the contradictoriness of being and the endless vanity of life - all these are the golden pillars of Mukagali Makatayev’s poetry. In order to delve deeply into the meaning of the poet’s tenacious poems that exist together with the people, it is necessary to carefully study the history and fate of each of his creations. The verse is the spirit of the poet. The concept of “poetology” was originally interpreted as “a verse about poetry.” It is known that the poetic works of Mukagali Makatayev about poetry and the poet form a whole cycle in his work. This cycle includes such poems by Mukagali Makatayev, as «Olen degen tumaidy jaishylykta»; «Makhambetter, Abaylar-ai»; «Kasym solai bolmasa..»; «Kara olen»; «Jyrlar jazam»; «Tolegenge»; «Shau tartyp kalypsyn-au, kairan shabyt»; «Tuady, tuady ali nagyz akyn»; «Sergey Eseninge»; «Abdildaga»; «Olen kerek»; «Men dagi olen jazbaimyn ermek ushin»; «Sharshadym bilem»; «Avtograf»; «Pushkinmen koshtasy»; «Adamdy adam tusinbeu...»; «Jyr-oshak»; «Farizaga»; «Ei, akyndardyn jarlary!»; «Esenin-Mayakovskyi»; «Poezia, menimen egiz be edin?» and others. When studying the author’s poetology, these poems act as an object. Through analysis, it is proved that poetism, poetry about poetry is a channel that clarifies the judgments and knowledge of a creative person, his mentality and taste. The ability of Mukagali to reveal the secrets of poetic nature through the mood and actions of a creative person is shown. The article examines how poems about such poets as Abai, Makhambet, Kasym, Abdilda, Tolegen, and such prominent representatives of foreign literature as Pushkin, Yesenin, reveal, in thematic and genre terms, the nature and fate of a creative personality, an individual the image of the verse in Kazakh national poetry. It is concluded that the analyzed works are unique examples of the best poetic techniques and high artistic and aesthetic perception of Mukagali Makatayev as a master of image.
