Objective This study examines the factors associated with healthcare professionals’ acceptance and adoption of telemedicine technologies using a convergent mixed-methods design. The UTAUT model was extended with trust, perceived data privacy, perceived organisational support and positive technological stress (techno-eustress); experiences were explored through thematic analysis of 83 free-text responses. Methods Data were collected simultaneously from 636 clinical healthcare workers in public and private hospitals in Sakarya, Türkiye, between May and October 2025 in a single cross-sectional survey (QUAN + qual; quantitative priority, embedded qualitative strand). Quantitative analysis involved PLS-SEM, a two-part hurdle model, artificial neural networks (ANN), multi-group analysis and importance–performance mapping. Qualitative data were analysed using the Braun and Clarke approach, with 120 coding units grouped under 27 themes. Findings were integrated via a joint display. Results The structural model explained 72.7% of the variance in usage satisfaction and 68.0% in behavioural intention. Positive technological stress showed the strongest association with both usage satisfaction and behavioural intention. A negative structural association between perceived data privacy and behavioural intention was observed despite a positive zero-order correlation (r = 0.486); this is provisionally interpreted as a suppression effect arising from high inter-construct correlations rather than a genuine privacy paradox. The hurdle model indicated that adoption was associated with performance expectations, facilitating conditions and satisfaction, whereas usage intensity was associated solely with positive technological stress. In the qualitative findings, accessibility was the strongest positive theme, whereas infrastructure inadequacy was the most prominent concern. Integration was largely confirmatory and expansive across the two strands. Conclusions Facilitating factors (trust, infrastructure investment, training focused on techno-eustress, transparent privacy management and hybrid triage practices) may be important for increasing the uptake of telehealth. As the design is cross-sectional and the sample was drawn from a single province, the reported relationships are associational and generalisability is limited.
