This article examines publishing practices as a means of promoting Kazakhstan’s choreographic art since the country gained independence. The study is prompted by the growing body of print and digital publications and the need to organise them into a coherent classification. It aims to identify the main types of publications and determine their role in preserving and popularising dance culture. The research combines typological and comparative approaches with structural and content analysis, descriptive and bibliographic methods, and synthesis. Drawing on monographs, teaching manuals, reference works, periodicals, illustrated albums, promotional materials, and other publications, the study proposes an original typology based on differences in content and function. The identified publication types represent distinct ways of presenting and disseminating knowledge about choreographic art, thereby contributing to its preservation and promotion in cultural and educational contexts. The proposed typology can be used by public and private organisations when planning new publishing projects, organising library and archival collections, and conducting educational and research activities.
