The article substantiates the relevance of establishing a mechanism to enhance the competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises based on optimizing supply chain management. The relevance of the study stems from intensifying global competition and structural changes in world trade, which require manufacturing enterprises to seek new sources of competitive advantage beyond traditional factors such as product price and quality. The article examines the need to develop a mechanism for enhancing enterprise competitiveness by optimizing supply chain management. On the example of the machine-building industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is characterized by high import dependence and moderate export dynamics, the traditional factors of competitiveness (price, quality) It is noted that until the logistics and supply processes are properly transformed, this will limit the growth reserve (reduction of growth potential). In 2024, the volume of machine-building production is projected to increase by approximately 10.8% (to 4.6 trillion tenge) Despite a growth of approximately 10.8% (to 4.6 trillion tenge) in the volume of machine-building products in 2024, exports decreased during this period, while imports still exceeded the volume of domestic production several times over, indicating the need to seek competitive potential in the management of supply and logistics. Theoretical approaches to the link between supply chain efficiency and enterprise competitiveness are systematized. Strategic, A multi-block mechanism is proposed, which includes strategic, technological, operational, risk-based, and evaluation-methodological components, as well as an integrated indicator for quantitatively assessing the impact of its implementation and determining the priority directions for improvement. The material is conceptual and methodological in nature and outlines the direction for subsequent empirical observation using data from Kazakhstani machine-building enterprises, which highlights the practical significance and prospects for further research.
