The article presents the results of applying a one-step freezing technology for bovine embryos without the use of electrical power sources under the conditions of the sharply continental climate and underdeveloped infrastructure of remote grazing areas in Western Kazakhstan. A comparative analysis was conducted between conventional programmable freezing of embryos in a glycerol-based medium and autonomous one-step freezing in a medium containing 1.5 M ethylene glycol. It was established that the autonomous technology ensures high preservation of biological material and a comparable embryo survival rate compared with the control method (50.7% versus 50.0%). At the same time, the use of the autonomous method makes it possible to significantly reduce the duration of the technological process, decrease dependence on electricity sources, and reduce material and technical costs. The technology is of particular importance for breeding and farming enterprises located in remote pasture areas of the region. The Direct Transfer method following autonomous freezing is considered promising for practical application in embryo transfer procedures and for widespread implementation under the limited infrastructure conditions of Western Kazakhstan.
