The article examines and substantiates a set of measures aimed at improving the operational efficiency of wells equipped with progressive cavity pumps (PCP) at a high-viscosity oil field. The specific features of high-viscosity oil production under low reservoir temperatures, variable water cut, the presence of free gas, mechanical impurities, and wellbore deviation are considered. Based on the results of the study, an algorithm is proposed for matching pump delivery with fluid inflow, providing for rotational speed control and monitoring of the volumetric delivery coefficient, torque, dynamic fluid level, stator temperature, and specific power consumption. In addition, the selection of an elastomer based on compatibility test results, optimization of rotor-stator interference fit, sucker rod string centralization, the use of gas and sand anchors, as well as technical condition diagnostics based on parameter trends, are substantiated. On a model sample of twenty wells, calculations show an increase in average liquid flow rate from 22.1 to 25.8 m³/day, a reduction in specific power consumption from 10.8 to 8.1 kWh/m³, and an increase in the mean time between failures (MTBF) from 286 to 410 days. A six-month field trial program has been developed, comprising a pilot group and a control group of wells. The results obtained represent an engineering scenario and require confirmation by field data.
