The study of the employment of the older population is of particular relevance against the background of the increasing intensity of population ageing in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The present study aims to compare key demographic and socio-economic processes related to population ageing in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. In particular, there is a steady upward trend in the number of people aged 60 and over in all three countries, which causes significant changes in the age structure of the population. The analysis considers the implications of demographic ageing, including changes in burden ratios, especially in the context of the older population. The study is based on official data from national statistical offices for 2014-2022 and covers the dynamics of the size, employment rates and unemployment rates of the older population. An important part of the analysis is the study of employment rates of the population aged 60 and over in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, which revealed a steady increase in their share in the total structure of the employed, accompanied by significant gender differences. Particular attention is paid to the barriers to the inclusion of the older population in the labor market. The authors emphasize the importance of creating conditions conducive to the development of employment of the older population in the context of demographic ageing.
