The article is aimed at conducting a deep analysis of current water consumption mechanisms in Kazakhstan’s rice farming to identify the most critical points of water resource loss. The primary focus is placed on studying Water Use Efficiency (WUE) and searching for ways to optimize it under conditions of increasing scarcity [1], [2]. The study examines modern agrotechnical and engineering solutions capable of radically reducing the load on river ecosystems. One of the central themes is the investigation of the potential of laser land leveling as a tool for uniform moisture distribution and the reduction of filtration losses [3], [4]. Furthermore, the possibilities of industry digitalization are analyzed, including the implementation of moisture sensors and automated gate control systems. It is shown that the transition from extensive cultivation methods to intensive technologies is the only way to preserve food security [5], [6]. International experience that could be adapted to the specific soil and climatic conditions of the Aral Sea region is also considered. Specific recommendations have been formed for farmers and government agencies regarding the modernization of the industry. The results of the study contribute to the theoretical foundations for the introduction of water-saving innovations into mass production [1], [3].
