Sports robotics is a promising and dynamically developing field worldwide; however, it is still largely absent from the educational system of Kazakhstan. This article presents the results of a survey conducted among more than 200 students and instructors in STEM-related fields, revealing a high level of interest in the topic and a critical lack of a systematic approach to its teaching. Despite the availability of competitions and technical resources, school students lack sufficient practical training and elective courses in sports robotics. In response to this challenge, the author proposes a concept for an elective course aimed at integrating modern technologies, project-based activities, and engineering thinking into school education. The proposed course model includes a modular structure, the use of interdisciplinary connections, teamwork, and participation in competitions as a motivational tool. The implementation of the course will contribute to the development of students’ technical literacy, programming, design, and analytical skills, as well as foster a sustained interest in engineering professions and innovative activities within the context of the modern digital economy. In addition, the article examines organizational conditions for implementation, teacher training, material and technical support, and opportunities for scaling the experience at regional and national levels through educational programs, partnerships, result assessment, and the sustainable development of the initiative in school practice in Kazakhstan.
