The main objective of this study is to comprehensively analyze the microstructural features of corn cobs in lightweight concrete and their adhesive properties during their interaction with slag-alkali binders. During the study, special attention was paid to structural changes in the interface zone of the organic filler and the binder matrix, as well as the effect on the physical and mechanical characteristics of the composition and the strength indicators of the contact zone. The main focus of the work is to evaluate the possibilities of increasing the environmental efficiency of lightweight concrete and improving its thermal insulation properties through the use of corn processing waste. The article uses corn cobs as an organic filler in a lightweight concrete system and studies their effect on the microstructure, thermal conductivity and adhesive strength of the material together with slag-alkali binders. The high porosity of crushed corn cobs ensures deep and uniform penetration of the binder solution into the structure, which, as a result, increases the adhesion strength and microhardness in the contact zone. In addition, the inherent vacuum effect created by the porous structure significantly improves the thermal insulation properties of the material. The results obtained show that the use of corn waste not only significantly reduces the density of concrete, but also increases its environmental safety and improves structural efficiency while maintaining mechanical stability. In this regard, such composite materials are considered a promising direction in the development of energy-saving and environmentally friendly construction technologies.
