As digital infrastructures advance, e-planning is shifting from being a primarily administrative function to being an interactive and participatory process that shapes community involvement and visitor engagement. Immersive tools such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and interactive digital mapping are increasingly used to reduce physical pressure on heritage sites and support inclusive planning practices. Drawing on qualitative research conducted in cultural tourism settings in the Asia-Pacific region, this study examines how immersive digital e-planning contributes to cultural identity preservation and tourist engagement. The findings indicate that immersive e-planning operates as a collaborative space where planners, communities, and visitors co-construct cultural meanings. However, its effectiveness depends on community participation, ethical design, and sensitivity to local contexts. Anchored in the sustainable development goals, this study highlights the need for culturally grounded digital planning approaches to support regenerative and responsible cultural tourism.
