An increase in demand for energy resources, a decrease in the efficiency of traditional extraction methods, and an increase in the share of hard-to-produce resources require the search for new solutions to increase oil recovery and its scientific justification based on a comprehensive analysis of geological, technical, physical, and chemical factors. Of great importance is the use of chemical methods in the extraction of additional oil, which reduce the interfacial tension and contribute to a change in the wettability of the rock. The purpose of the study is to systematize modern and existing surfactants used to enhance oil recovery, identify gaps in research and determine the direction of further technology development by comparing their economic efficiency, advantages and environmental constraints. The study is based on an analysis of various types of surfactants used in the deposits. The adsorption of chemical reagents on the rock of the layer is being studied. To assess the effectiveness, the influence of temperature, salinity, and other factors was determined. Examples of the use of surfactants in deposits were compared. The problems arising from increased oil recovery are analyzed. In addition, the criteria for the selection of surfactants have been clarified. The research results have shown that reducing surface tension can improve the efficiency of surfactants and significantly improve well productivity. The study confirmed that the integration of the polymer- surfactants (ASP) system and bio surfactants- polymer, which are resistant to high temperatures and salt environments, is a highly effective method. From a practical point of view, these technologies are recommended for consideration as promising areas of research to enhance oil recovery in difficult, difficult-to-produce conditions.
