This study examined differences in the profile of tolerance to ambiguity, the dominant state among male and female respondents in Kazakhstan during the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, 327 residents of Kazakhstan participated, comprising 84.6 per cent women and 15.4 per cent men. The age of the participants ranged from 14 to 67 years ( M = 23.23 ± 10.45). Potential participants were recruited through a survey on social networks, using a convenient selection of different age categories in an online survey within the period from 11 August to 12 October 2021. The diagnostic tools used in the study were previously translated and adapted into the Kazakh language. We obtained a high-reliability coefficient for each diagnostic technique. Various personality types are classified as Traditionalist, Stoic, Adventurer, Cautious Planner and Pragmatist. Differences in the distribution of personality types between men and women were found. While the Pragmatist is the most common type among men, it is only the third most common among women. Conversely, the Stoic is the most common among women but ranks fourth among men. Such variations can provide reliable data on gender preferences or inclinations in relation to personality traits in the study population.
