The construction of a mining and processing plant is planned on the basis of the Bala- Sauskandyk vanadium deposit. Industrial water is required for technological processes such as equipment cooling and steam production, transportation and washing of raw materials and products, as well as for auxiliary needs. Currently, the search and exploration of groundwater is mainly carried out by geophysical methods; in this regard, the analysis of the capabilities of the transient process method is an urgent task. The purpose of the research is to identify faults, fracturing and crushing zones, to determine the depth of open fracturing zones in the area of the Bala-Sauskandyk deposit using the transient process method. Based on the research data, geoelectric sections and contour maps of apparent specific electrical resistance were constructed and analyzed at four sites. Analyzing the apparent resistance field made it possible to identify a number of local anomalies of low resistance values corresponding to flooded zones. Studies with the use of the transient process method ensure the development of a structural and material basis for a model of the geological structure of the territory for prospecting and studying groundwater deposits
