A methodology has been developed for optimizing the parameters of the working area of an open-pit mine at complex mineral deposits using a grid-node model. The method enables cost minimization during large-scale overburden operations at deep mining levels. Optimal shape, dimensions, and location of the current pit bottom and operational horizons are determined at each development stage. Geological conditions, ore composition, technological constraints, and economic factors are taken into account through a system of criteria (kvs, kkd, Zj). A procedure is proposed for calculating volumetric, qualitative, and economic indicators for any configuration of mining operations. The necessity of applying a comprehensive set of criteria in mine design is substantiated, especially for complex, heterogeneous deposits. An algorithm for constructing criterion isolines has been developed, generating contour variants with varying levels of efficiency
