The article discusses the possibilities of using modern computer-aided design (CAD/CAE) systems, including SolidWorks and discrete element modeling (DEM) software systems, when creating new-generation agricultural machines. Using the example of the development of a seed drill for zero-crop technologies, it is shown that the integration of digital modeling methods allows for an in-depth analysis of structural elements, working bodies and mechanisms for applying mineral fertilizers at the design stage. The use of a virtual environment makes it possible to quickly compare different geometry options, select rational kinematic parameters for nodes, and predict machine behavior in real-world operating conditions without the need to manufacture a series of experimental samples. In the course of the study, a 3D model of the seeder was built and the interaction of the working bodies with the soil was simulated, which made it possible to determine the nature of the load distribution, evaluate the power consumption and identify the parameters affecting the energy efficiency of the sowing process. The data obtained made it possible to optimize the design of individual nodes in order to reduce energy consumption and increase the stability of the technological process. The results of the work confirm the prospects of using CAD/DEM technologies in agricultural engineering and can be used as a scientific and technical basis for further creation, improvement and laboratory testing of seeders with an automated system of strip sowing and simultaneous fertilization.
