This article presents an improved adsorption-based unit designed to reduce the content of radionuclides and heavy metal salts in milk. The objective of the study is to develop an effective purification technology that ensures the safe consumption of milk. Milk is a valuable food product with high biological and nutritional value. It contains proteins, fats, vitamins, and microelements essential for the human body and constitutes an important part of the daily diet. However, under conditions of environmental instability and technogenic pollution, dairy products may accumulate toxic substances such as radionuclides and heavy metal salts, which pose a threat to human health. Therefore, the development of effective methods for removing harmful contaminants from milk remains a relevant challenge. The study proposes an improvement of an experimental adsorption-based unit aimed at reducing the concentration of toxic substances in milk. The unit design enables the adjustment of liquid flow schemes in various combinations (through one, two, or three columns), allowing the purification process to be tailored according to the degree of contamination and the nature of toxic components. The adsorption method ensures the removal of harmful substances without degrading valuable nutritional components such as proteins, vitamins, and microelements. The unit does not require complex automation and is suitable for use under laboratory conditions. The application of affordable and low-cost natural sorbents contributes to lowering the overall purification cost.
