This article examines the cultural interactions between China and Kazakhstan through an analysis of the publication exchange process. The novelty of the study lies in the comparative analysis of the time and content of books translated from Kazakh into Chinese, as well as from Chinese into Kazakh and Russian, to assess their spiritual and cultural impact on both countries. The aim of the study is to determine the cultural and spiritual influence of China and Kazakhstan on each other by analyzing official publications exchanged between the two countries in terms of their publication time and content. A historical approach was applied in the research. For example, a comparative analysis of translations of Abai’s works into Chinese, carried out in the 1940s, 1950s, 1980s, and the 21st century, helped to identify their impact on the Chinese audience. Content analysis of publications translated from Chinese into Kazakh or Russian demonstrated their significance for Kazakhstan, such as the publication of valuable historical sources about Kazakhs preserved in Chinese archives. The use of empirical analysis made it possible to study the impact of classical literature, popular science works, and political books published in Kazakh and Chinese on the formation of mutual spiritual understanding between the peoples of the two countries. The conclusions drawn in the article provide a scientific basis for understanding the process and nature of cultural and spiritual interaction between China and Kazakhstan. Additionally, it is concluded that China’s “soft power” influence in Kazakhstan is strengthening as its economic influence deepens.
