This article examines the issue of gender inequality in the distribution of household responsibilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Contemporary assessments of the output generated within households indicate that unpaid time expenditures constitute a significant portion of the GDP in many countries, including Kazakhstan. The analysis is based on data from time-use surveys conducted between 2015 and 2021. Statistical data were analyzed using the following methods: descriptive statistics, the Mann-Whitney test, and correlation analysis. The article provides a detailed examination of the factors influencing the degree of inequality in the distribution of household responsibilities between men and women, such as employment status, presence of children, age, education level, and income. The study reveals that women continue to spend significantly more time on household duties despite their participation in paid labor. Particular attention is given to the "double burden" on women, especially in families with children. The article offers recommendations for reducing gender inequality, including the development of public and educational initiatives, support for flexible working conditions, and family programs.
